what is it about?
"As an alchemist, my practice is a modern continuation of an ancient tradition—a complex blend of early chemistry, philosophy, and mysticism. To fully expand on my focus, I must consider that by default, I am also an anarchist; my practice resists rigid structures to liberate both material and spirit. I view the Magnum Opus (the Great Work) not just as a historical pursuit, but as a living cycle of discovery and re-discovery that connects us to an invisible timeline of every maker throughout history. This "one giant artwork," which I believe is ultimately authored by God, binds different generations of artists together across millions of years.
My work is deeply rooted in the materials of the earth and the "relics" of our existence. While I am partial to clay—treating it as a geological timeline that holds memories—I also utilize found objects like pebbles, car parts, and old tools as my Prima Materia. I am fascinated by the origins of these materials, constantly asking what discoveries led to their existence and how far I can push the elements God has provided. Every object, to me, is a symbolic Philosopher's Stone. In my philosophy, the Stone is not a physical object to be found in the past, but the unknown potential existing at the bottom of a limitless well of curiosity.
I translate ancient concepts into my creative process, utilizing Alkahest ( universal solvent) or what I call fire and treating my studio practice as a search for Quintessence. Whether harvesting wild clay from the source or experimenting with handmade glazes, my goal is to honor the origins of my materials while exploring the infinite possibilities of transformation."
