Guided by her grandmother’s advice that "well-behaved women rarely make history," Sage Traylor approaches contemporary art with an independent, boundary-pushing mindset. Raised in Louisiana, Traylor developed a deep connection to her environment and an insatiable curiosity regarding material transformation and physical process. As a multi-disciplinary studio artist working across large-scale sculpture, technical ceramics, and alternative media, her practice focuses on structural experimentation and tactile exploration. Her work has been exhibited extensively across the region, including the Masur Museum of Art, the Alabama Clay Conference, and Rochester Contemporary Art Center. Melding fine art with industrial fabrication, she has engineered award-winning theatrical stage environments and co-designed structural concrete elements for the Ruston DIY skatepark. Traylor holds a BFA in Studio Art from the Louisiana Tech University School of Design.
